Debbie Fund Fifth Anniversary Event

The Debbie Fund Fifth Anniversary event was  held on Tuesday 3rd March 2015, at 11 Cavendish Square, London W1 to mark the fifth anniversary of Debbie Fund and its successful research programme at UCL, which is making great progress thanks to the incredible generosity of so many Debbie Fund supporters.

We were delighted that Jeremy Paxman, best known for his probing interviews on BBC Newsnight, kindly agreed to support us at the event. and guests enjoyed a very entertaining snapshot of his experiences. Jeremy Paxman was introduced by our host for the evening, Katy Phillips (daughter of Debbie, after whom the fund was named). Guests enjoyed champagne, canapés and bowl food and there was bidding for exciting auction prizes throughout the evening.

Will Richards, Deputy Chairman of Mallett, kindly gave up his time to conduct a live auction, with auction prizes including  the chance to have dinner with  world renowned wine critic Jane MacQuitty, and use of a spectacular holiday home in Provence. A magnificent total of £29,000 was raised, all of which goes directly into the research at UCL to improve treatments for women with cervical cancer, continuing to help reduce the number of women (around a quarter of a million worldwide) who die of cervical cancer each year.

Thank you to all those who enjoyed the evening  enabling Debbie Fund to continue to develop the research programme which your generosity has made possible. Particular thanks to our sponsors, Mars Inc, Pure Consulting,  Sage , WPP and Magnet Harlequin, and to the very generous supporters who donated such incredible auction prizes.
